About

So what’s this all about?

The London 2.0 meetings (about all things Web 2.0) have been rather successful. This website is designed to work primarily as the site for arranging the meet-ups, but more generally to act as a site to enable the community to communicate, share ideas, and perhaps even find a job (or a VC!).

History

In August 2005, Sam Newman wrote an article comparing Ruby on Rails and Django. The ensuing interest prompted him to arrange a drinks evening in the hope he would get to see some fist fights. Instead everyone was very civil, and much interesting conversations were had.

The first London 2.0 meet-up was held at Smiths of Smithfield on the 5th of September, 2005. Since then we’ve been meeting at Ye Olde Bank on England on fleet street.
